Henderson State right-handed pitcher
Bryant Haralson was named Great American Pitcher of the Week for his performance against Nebraska-Kearney.
In his first start Haralson struck out 11 batters in recording a 7-0 victory over the Lopers. Haralson's 11 K's were the most since Nathan Eller struck out 14 against Harding on April 16, 2011.
Haralson set the tone early striking out the first three batters he faced on 10 pitches. After a catcher's interference and a base hit in the second inning, he retired the next 18 batters he faced.
Haralson threw just 85 pitches in 7 innings and did not walk a batter.
It is the second consecutive week that the Reddies have had a player named Pitcher of the Week honors as
Chris Hunt earned the award last week.
Henderson will play host to Arkansas Tech
Tuesday in non-conference action with the first pitch set for
6 p.m. at Clyde Berry Field.
