Alexis “Muggs” Smith played tennis and volleyball from 1967 to 1971, playing for legendary coach Bettye Wallace.  Smith won the 1968 state singles title in tennis and was runner-up in the 1971 doubles tournament, teaming with Susan Cartwright. Smith, who also lettered four years in volleyball, was the president of the physical education club and the vice-president of the Women’s Recreational Association
