One of the best pitchers in Henderson State program history, Chris Hunt was a four-year standout for the Reddies from 2014 to 2017 and is the program's all-time leader in innings pitched with 314 to his credit. Hunt is the only Reddie pitcher with over 300 innings pitched in a career and is one off just six to ever pitch 100 or more innings in a single season, which he did in 2016 (101). He ranks second all-time at HSU in strikeouts (226) and is third in program history with 21 career wins on the mound. A member of the Reddies' 2015 College World Series team, Hunt led HSU that season with a 3.12 ERA in 89.1 innings pitched and started games for Henderson State in both the Central Regional and College World Series in Cary, North Carolina. Hunt threw the program's most-recent no-hitter in the 2016 GAC-Tournament against Southeastern Oklahoma State and was also the most recent Reddie baseball player to be selected in the MLB Draft when he was taken by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 39th round in 2017. He played three seasons in the Cardinals organization, including stops with Johnson City in the Appalachian League and with Peoria in the Midwest League.
