Davis participated in basketball from 1968-71. He was the second all-time leading scorer at Henderson State. He was All-Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference in 1969-71, NAIA All-District from 1969-71, NAIA All-Tournament Team in 1969, and NAIA All-American from 1969-71.
