In 1985, Baker posted a 7-1 overall pitching record, which resulted in being team best in wins. His repertoire continued with a 1.54 earned run average, which was also best among the Reddies that season.  After graduation, Baker coached track at Benton Westside Junior High where his athletes broke five school records and only lost two track meets all season. Baker moved to Malvern where he took over the head baseball and assistant football coaching jobs. Baker’s accomplishments include over 350 baseball wins, 14 conference championships, 21 straight playoff appearances, state runner-up and two state championships in 1992 and 2001.
