Emily Hartsfield was a two-sport athlete at Henderson State from 1975 to 1979. Hartsfield lettered four years in volleyball and three years in tennis. A four-time All-AWISA selection in volleyball, Hartsfield was voted the team’s most valuable player all four years. She helped lead the Lady Reddies to one state title and three runner-up finishes. The Lady Reddies participated in the regional tournament all four years and had a best-finish of third in 1976. Hartsfield was a tri-captain her senior year. In tennis, Hartsfield won the No. 2 singles flight in the AWISA State Tournament her senior year and qualified for the regional.
