Harold Tilley was a three-sport athlete from 1953 to 1956.
Tilley played four years of football under legendary coach Duke Wells. He was a two-way starter playing both tight end and defensive end, earning All-AIC honors his senior season.
During his junior season, he never left the field, playing both offense and defense while also being on all special teams.
He was part of the Reddie basketball team for one year and was the only Henderson athlete during the 1953-54 year to earn a letter on both the football and basketball teams.
He ran track his sophomore season participating in the 440-yard dash.
Following his playing days, Tilley went on to have a successful career in teaching and coaching. He coached for 33 years, including four years at the junior high level, 19 years at the high school level and 10 years at the college level.
