    Buckley was an outstanding athlete for Henderson in the early 1930s, and lettered in three sports: football, basketball, and track.  Buckley’s play on the gridiron earned All-State honors in 1932 and 1933.  He was captain of the football team in 1933 and received one of the state’s highest honors when he was named to the “All-Time All-State Eleven.”  Buckley also achieved All-State status while a Reddie Basketball player in the 1932-33 season.
