Jackie Dunlap-Pitts was one of the premier female swimmers for Henderson State from 1969 to 1973. Dunlap-Pitts represented Henderson at the National Women’s Collegiate Swimming and Diving Championship in 1970 finishing 16th in the nation. She helped lead Henderson to three Arkansas State Championships, while setting the school record in the 50-yard breast stroke. Dunlap-Pitts, who served as the team captain in 1973, held the Arkansas State title all four years in the 50-yard breast stroke never losing in the event. In 1973 she was named to the list of Outstanding College Athletes of America. Aside from swimming, Dunlap-Pitts was also a member of the Reddie Ripples.
