Jimmy Baker played football, basketball, and tennis during his four years at Henderson from 1955 to 1959, earning nine varsity letters. A three-time All-AIC Conference selection in football, Baker was one of the top quarterbacks in the AIC, ranking second in passing while also being one of the top returners in the conference. The Arkadelphia, Ark., product played two years for the Reddie basketball team and three years for the tennis team. After graduating from Henderson, Baker served in the U.S. Army and was in the Military Police Corp. After service to his country, Baker began his teaching and coaching career in Mena, Ark. After a four year stint at Mena, Baker moved to Florida and coached and taught at various schools for the next 31 years.
