Joe Smith played football at Henderson during the 1974-77 seasons. In 1974, Smith made the All-AIC team while making his mark in history with 1,409 rushing yards. Smith ranks third in school history with 2,958 career rushing yards on 641 carries. His career rushing yards also ranks him sixth on the school’s all time career total offensive production list. Smith played on three AIC Championship teams that combined to have a 32-4 overall record. Smith was signed as a free agent by the Cleveland Browns.
