A three-sport athlete, playing football, basketball and running track, R.C. Kennedy was one of Henderson’s top athletes of all time. Kennedy often led the Reddie basketball squad in scoring, while running over defenders on the football field, getting playing time at halfback and end. Voted Henderson’s Top Athlete by the students in 1937 and again in 1939. Kennedy coached basketball and baseball for 23 years at East Texas Baptist University.
