Football

Carpenter participated in football from 1954-57 and was All-AIC in 1956. He was head football coach from 1971-89; NAIA District Coach of the Year in 1973, 1974, and 1985; NAIA Coach of the Year in 1985; and coached teams to five AIC titles (1973-75, 1977, and 1985). He was an NAIA committee member and inducted to the NAIA Hall of Fame in 1990.
