Claude Johnson earned Great American Conference Player of the Week honors for his performance at the Houston Astros Winter Invitational last weekend at Minute Maid Park.

Johnson lead the Reddies to a perfect 4-0 record including wins over nationally-ranked Central Missouri and Arkansas Tech.

Johnson was 10-for-21 for a .476 average including a 1.048 slugging percentage.

The graduate student from Pine Bluff, Ark. had seven extra-base hits including four doubles, a triple and two home runs.

Johnson also drove in eight runs and scored seven times.

In each of the four games, Johnson managed at least a double, a run scored and RBI.

He totaled three hits in games against Arkansas Tech, Tarleton State and Winona State.
Against Arkansas Tech and Tarleton State, Johnson was a triple shy of the cycle.

In the finale against Winona State, he belted a single, double and a triple.
