Michelle Sorensen was named Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week for a third time this season.

Sorensen, who named one of 25 finalists for the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II National Freshman of the Year Award, was 4-0 last week and helped lead the Reddies to a perfect 6-0 record including a four-game sweep of Harding.

The product of Sherwood, Ark. worked 25 innings and struck out 17 batters while posting a 1.12 earned run average.


She gave up just 14 hits with opponents hitting .145 for the week.

One of her four wins included a relief performance where she pitched the final 8 innings in the longest game in GAC history as the Reddies beat Harding 5-4 in 14 innings.
Sorensen leads the GAC with a 2.13 earned run average and is also tops in wins with 12. Sorensen also has two saves on the year.
