Salmon had the biggest hit for the Reddies as he launched a three-run bomb to left field with two outs in the top of the ninth inning of the opening game of the tournament against No.1 seed Southern Arkansas. Salmon's big fly tied the game at 6-all. The Marshall, Texas native would bat .400 (4-for-10) and led the team with 4 runs batted in.
