Keaton Stigger was named Beyond Sports Network National Player of the Week. Stigger was also named Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Stigger earned the honor after recording 11 tackles including solo stops and a pair of tackles for lost yardage last week against Southeastern Oklahoma.
More impressive was that Stigger also made an appearance on the offensive side of the football as a fullback. Playing offense for the first time in his collegiate career, Stigger carried the ball four times and with each attempt he reached pay dirt having three touchdown runs of 2 yards and one of 4 yards.
The senior linebacker from Collierville, Tenn. tied a GAC record for rushing touchdowns in a game held by Henderson's Kevin Nichols set last year against Ouachita Baptist (11/10/12) and Derick Perkins of Southern Nazarene against College of the Faith (11/10/12).
