The Henderson State volleyball team wrapped up their play in the 2011 Arkansas Tech Volleyball Invitational on Saturday with a pair of 3-0 losses to Lindenwood University (25-18, 25-23, 25-15) and Truman State University (25-20, 25-14, 25-17).
The Lady Reddies (4-21, 0-10 GAC) took on Lindenwood to start the day. The Lady Lions (15-11) got off to an early start with a set one win, 25-18. The success kept coming as Lindenwood won a closely-contested second set, 25-23. The third set would also be won by the Lady Lions, 25-15, giving them the sweep of the Lady Reddies.
In the match against Lindenwood, four different Lady Reddies recorded four or more kills. Ty Lindberg led the way for the team with nine kills. Candance Redwine followed with seven kills. Cheyene Derr and Jessica Moss each had six kills.
In the nightcap, the Lady Reddies took on Truman State University. The Lady Bulldogs (13-9) also earned a sweep of the Lady Reddies with a 25-20 set one win, a 25-14 set two win, and a 25-17 set three win.
Lindberg, who was the lone Lady Reddie named to the All-Tournament team, led the team once more in kills with eight. She finished the day with 17 kills.
The Lady Reddies will be back in action on Tuesday, October 18th as the will play host non-conference opponent Texas A&M-Commerce. The match doubles as “Loud Fan Night” at the Duke Wells Center with the first serve is set for 7:00.
