Henderson State could not overcome a veteran Arkansas Tech team as the Lady Reddies lost (25-11, 25-21, 25-17) to the Golden Suns in Great American Conference volleyball action, Thursday at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville.
Ty Lindberg led Henderson with 9 kills, while Sara Gonzales contributed with 10 defensive digs.
Arkansas Tech was led by of outside hitter Laura Farney. In the win, Farney had 10 kills and 14 digs and hit .206 in helping Tech to its ninth consecutive victory.
Henderson State fell to 2-9 on the season and 0-2 in conference play. The Golden Suns improved to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in the GAC.
In the third set, Henderson State took advantage of several ATU errors to take a 10-4 lead. However, the Golden Suns would outscore HSU, 21-7 over the remainder of the set to secure the victory.
Arkansas Tech hit .246, while the Lady Reddies were limited to a .047 hitting percentage.
HSU will play host to West Alabama on Monday, Sept. 19 at 3 p.m. followed by a match with Lyon College at 7 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
