ARKADELPHIA, Ark. –
Ty Lindberg's match-high 17 kills and
Jessica Moss' match-high 11 total blocks helped propel the Henderson State women's volleyball team to a 3-1 win over the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday night in the Duke Wells Center.
Despite falling behind early in the first set, the Lady Reddies (6-21) would battle back and win the opener by a score of 25-14. In that set, the Lady Reddies had an attack percentage of .242 (12 kills, 4 errors, 33 total attacks) while limiting the Lady Golden Lions (8-14) to an attack percentage of .051 (10 kills, 8 errors, 39 total attacks).
The match would even up at a set a piece as HSU lost the second set by a score of 25-18.The Lady Reddies would have an attack percentage of .000 as they committed nine attack errors in that set.
The Lady Reddies would commit just six total errors over sets three and four en route to wins in each set. The third set saw the Lady Reddies' offense strike at full force as they hammered home 14 kills on 28 attacks and committed three errors for an attack percentage of .393.
In the closeout set, the Lady Reddies benefitted from 12 UAPB attack errors while adding 10 kills of their own.
Four different Lady Reddies notched at least 10 digs against UAPB with
Malorie Kelley leading the team with 18 digs.
Lauren Ray was behind Kelly with 12 digs while
Cheyenne Derr and Lindberg each had 10 digs.
For Lindberg, the 10 digs in addition to her 17 kills gives her three consecutive double-doubles and seven on the season. Ray also earned a double-double as she dished out 35 assists to compliment her 12 digs.
The Lady Reddies will enter back in to Great American Conference play on Saturday, November 3rd as they will play host to Southeastern Oklahoma. The match is scheduled to start at 1:00 pm in the Duke Wells Center.
