Lady Reddies Swept by Texas A&M-Commerce in Non-Conference Tilt

COMMERCE, Texas – The Henderson State women's volleyball took a three-set defeat to the hands of Texas A&M-Commerce on Tuesday night by scores of 25-19, 25-12, and 25-20 inside The Field House in Commerce, Texas.
 
The Lady Reddies (4-16) got eight kills from Ty Lindberg and Jessica Moss in the three-set match, but the team as a whole totaled just 23 kills. The Lady Lions (13-6), however, displayed a strong offensive attack as they tallied 51 kills and had three players register double-digit kills.
 
The opening set saw the Lady Reddies record their most kills in a set as they totaled 11 kills on 38 total attacks. Despite the Lady Reddies' solid attack effort in the first set, Texas A&M-Commerce was able to surpass HSU with 19 kills on 48 total attacks.
 
Throughout the match, HSU benefited from 10 service errors committed by TAMC. The Lady Reddies, conversely, did not commit a service error themselves.
 
Emily Belz led the team in assists with 18 while Lauren Ray led the team defensively with 16 digs. Yaritza Santiago would also record double-digit digs as she finished with 12 digs. The team totaled five blocks as four Lady Reddies contributed at least one block assist. Moss would register HSU's lone block solo.
 
The Lady Reddies will return home to the Duke Wells Center on Friday, October 12th as they are set to take on Southeastern Oklahoma State University. First serve is set for a 6 p.m. start.
