MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Henderson State volleyball team picked up their third win of the season on Friday night as they traveled to Memphis, Tenn. and handed LeMoyne-Owen a dominating three-set loss in which the Lady Reddies held the Magicians to just 33 points over the three sets.
Six different Lady Reddies (3-7) contributed to the offensive onslaught as all six recorded four or more kills. Junior outside hitter,
Ty Lindberg paced the Lady Reddies' attack with a team-high nine kills. Sophomore outside hitter,
Sarah Williams led the team in attack percentage (.467) as she did not commit an attack error on 15 attempts while hammering home seven kills.
Newcomers
Emily Belz and
Kiyhanna Dade orchestrated the Lady Reddie offense as each netted double-digit assists. Belz led the team with 17 while Dade dished out 11.
On the defensive end, the Lady Reddies as a team turned in another strong showing at the net as they totaled 10 team blocks. Williams was one of the more active at the net as she tallied seven block assists. Lindberg was right there with Williams as she denied three on her own and assisted on four more.
The Lady Reddies will return to Great American Conference play on Tuesday, September 18th as they will host Southern Arkansas. First serve is set for 7:00 pm.
