Ty Lindberg collected 15 kills to lead Henderson State to a 25-11, 26-24, 23-25, and 25-20 win over Union University on Friday at the University of Alabama-Huntsville Volleyball Classic in Huntsville, Ala.

With the win, Henderson snapped a six-match losing skid but more importantly the victory gives the Lady Reddies some momentum entering Great American Conference play next week.

The Lady Reddies, 2-6 on the season, dropped the first match of the day losing to West Georgia 26-24, 25-14, and 25-12.

Lindberg totaled eight kills in the early morning match, while Yaritza Santiago had seven spikes.

Against Union, Henderson easily handled the Lady Bulldogs in the first set as Kiyanna Dade served nine straight points while having two service aces during the run. The Lady Reddies also benefitted from 10 attack errors by Union.

The remainder of the match was much different as Union pushed the Lady Reddies to the limit. After winning the second set 26-24 on a Lindberg kill, Union won the next set 25-23 to force a fourth set.

Henderson built a comfortable lead in the fourth set with the help of 13 kills and a .265 attack percentage.
However, Union rallied behind four service aces by Jami Humphries to bring the Lady Bulldogs to within four points.
Again it was Lindberg that ended the run and secured the match for the Lady Reddies as the Benton, Ark. product put down her 15^th kill of the match.

Lindberg combined for 23 kills in the two matches, compiling a .203 attack percentage to go along with 30 digs.
Santiago ended the day with 14 kills, while Jessica Moss collected 13 spikes.
Lauren Ray totalled 24 defensive digs against Union after having 12 earlier against West Georgia, while Emily Belz collected 33 set assists on the day.

Henderson State will begin Great American Conference play on Tuesday, Sept. 11 when the Lady Reddies play host to Harding at the Duke Wells Center with the first serve scheduled for 7 p.m.
