Box Score

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The Henderson State University volleyball team (3-18) was only able to take one set from the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff (9-19) in a midweek meeting, as the Lady Reddies fell 3-1 in the H.O. Clemmons Arena Thursday evening.

Mimicking their first meeting that took place on Oct. 10, the Golden Lions won the first two sets to take a commanding 2-0 lead. In an attempt for another comeback, the Lady Reddies squeezed out a 25-23 win in the third set, but that would be all.

Pine-Bluff was relentless in the fourth set, only allowing HSU to record nine points on three kills and take the victory.

Katrina Goulbourne (Jr., Visalia, Calif.) tied a match-high with 12 kills, and was the most effective for the Lady Reddies, hitting .258. Junior Raegan Large (Montgomery, Texas) also pulled out a double-digit performance adding 14 digs in the backcourt.

Taylor Thompson (Yuba City, Calif.) posted her 15th match with 20 or more assists this season with 23.

The Golden Lions outhit Henderson State, .261 to .095 and served up 18 aces, led by Ashlie Jones with 12.

HSU will return to the Duke Wells Center on Saturday for a Great American Conference matchup against East Central University. The match is set for a noon start.
