Box Score RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Henderson State University volleyball team (4-23) were unable to stump one of the top Great American Conference team, as Arkansas Tech (22-10, 9-4 GAC) rolled past HSU, 3-0, in the Tucker Coliseum on Tuesday evening.
The Golden Suns swept the Lady Reddies, 25-17, 25-14 and 25-11, as HSU remains winless in conference play with and 0-13 record.
Junior
Katrina Goulbourne (Visalia, Calif.) once again was Henderson State's kills leader, adding seven in three sets of play.
Cheyenne Derr and
Cherise Austin (Jr., Palmdale, Calif.), who recently is coming off an injury, each added five kills apiece.
Junior libero
Raegan Large (Montgomery, Texas) was just two digs away from 10 digs, recording eight in HSU's last road match.
HSU and ATU were even in blocks for the match, adding three in three sets. The Golden Suns outhit Henderson State, .317 to .053, coasting to its second win over HSU this season.
HSU's will conclude the 2013 season by hosting Ouachita Baptist University on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. Head coach
Rhonda Thigpen and the entire Lady Reddie team will honor Derr, as the lone senior from Mansfield, Ark. will play in her last match in the Duke Wells Center. Derr's commitment, passion and talent has emulated what Thigpen and the program look for in each member of the Lady Reddie volleyball team.
