LADY REDDIES FALL SHORT IN LOSS TO ARKANSAS TECH 68-62

Box Score Henderson State's quest for an upset of the top team in the Great American Conference fell short as Arkansas Tech survived with a 68-62 win over the Lady Reddies, Saturday at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The Lady Reddies, 10-12 overall and 5-11 in the Great American Conference, had the Golden Suns on the ropes as the lead changed hands 14 times in the game.

Henderson's inability to shoot the long-range jumper was a huge factor as the Lady
Reddies failed to make a 3-point field goal finishing the game 0-for-13 from beyond the arc. ATU was 4-for-11 from 3-point range.

Aungelique Sledge scored a career-high 15 points to lead the Lady Reddies, while Krystal Beachum scored 13 points and Jalisa Benjamin totaled 11 points.

Roselis Silva led the Golden Suns with 25 points and six rebounds. Caroline Eubanks and Tikeyiah Johnson had 10 points each.

Arkansas Tech, 16-6 on the year and 13-3 in the GAC, outrebounded the Lady Reddies 41 to 33 with Jessica Weatherford leading Arkansas Tech with 10 rebounds to go along with 9 points.

Destiny Smith was tops for Henderson having 12 rebounds while also having 8 points.   
Henderson State shot 41 percent from the floor converting on 22-of-54 shots, while Arkansas Tech made 23-of-58 field goals for 40 percent shooting.

The Lady Reddies will next travel to Oklahoma for their final two road games of the year as
\Henderson will take on Southwestern Oklahoma on Thursday with the opening tip set for 5:30 p.m. in Weatherford, Okla.
