Henderson State, 12-13 overall and 7-12 in the Great American Conference, broke a 54-54 tie with 1:27 left to play as Aungelique Sledge drove the lane for a layup.

After Katherine West missed a pair of free throws, Smith put Henderson on top 58-54 with 40 seconds remaining.

West then went to the foul line with 22 seconds on the clock and made both free throws to cut the deficit to a single basket.

OBU's Breanna Harris then stole the basketball from Jill Temples with 12 seconds left and the Lady Tigers called time out to set up a possible game-winning play.

Henderson's defense was too much for the Lady Tigers as OBU could not get a good look at the basket and the Lady Reddies pulled down a defensive rebound as time expired.

Henderson's win over the Lady Tigers ends a six-game losing streak to OBU dating back to January 28, 2010.

OBU, 16-9 overall and 11-8 in the GAC, relied on its perimeter shooting as the Lady Tigers hit eight of 17 3-point field goals.

OBU was led by Monica Williams' 19 points and 7 rebounds.
