Henderson State will attempt to end its two game losing skid as the Reddies take on league-leading Southwestern Oklahoma, Thursday in Weatherford, Okla. with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m.
Henderson State enters the week with a 6-8 record overall and a 2-4 mark in league play after suffering a pair of losses last week to Harding and Arkansas Tech.
The Reddies have averaged just 67points per game in their last two games, while allowing 85.5 points.
Deiorvay Johnson continues to lead the team in scoring averaging 15.1 points per game. Johnson is averaging 21.0 points per game in the last three games.
Melvin Haynes follows Johnson averaging 11.9 points per game and is also Henderson's top free-throw shooter converting on 32-of-37 attempts (87%).
Taylor Smith is scoring 11.4 points per game while averaging 4.9 rebounds. In Saturday's game against Arkansas Tech, Smith totaled 12 points.
Southwestern Oklahoma enters the game with an 8-4 record overall and a 5-1 mark in GAC. The Bulldogs are first in the GAC standings after a 55-43 win last Saturday over East Central.
Rod Camphor leads SWOSU averaging 15.8 points per contest.
Gary Inglett follows averaging 15.2 points per game and leads the team in rebounding averaging 8.1 boards per contest.
Also scoring in double-figures is
Trent Washington who adds 12.4 points per outing. Washington is a huge 3-point threat, leading the team with 29 long-range jumpers.
HSU and SWOSU meet for the sixth time in a series which dates back to 2012. The Reddies have a 3-2 advantage in the series. The Reddies have won both meetings played in Weatherford. The teams split last year with HSU winning 59-55 on the road, but lost at home 90-84.
