Henderson State will attempt to end its three-game losing skid as the Reddies travel to Alva, Okla. on Saturday to face Northwestern Oklahoma State with game time set for 4 p.m.

The Reddies rallied from a 21-point first-half deficit on Thursday against Southwestern Oklahoma, but fell short in the later moments as the Bulldogs held on to win 79-76.

Henderson State enters the game with a 6-9 record overall and a 2-5 mark in Great American Conference play.

Melvin Haynes led the Reddies on Thursday against the Bulldogs, scoring 25 points and was 6-for-10 from the 3-point arc.

The senior from Akron, Ohio is averaging 12.9 points per game on the year.

Deoirvay Johnson continues to lead the Reddies averaging 14.7 points per contest. Against SWOSU, Johnson scored 10 points and had 5 rebounds.

The Rangers, 5-9 overall and 2-6 in the GAC, are coming off an 87-81 loss to Ouachita Baptist on Thursday.

NWOSU is averaging just 64.5 points per game while opponents are scoring 70.3 points per outing.

The Rangers will launch plenty of 3-point shots having 248 long-distance attempts. However the team is shooting just 26 percent from beyond the arc.

The Rangers are led by Bruce Wright who is averaging 13.7 points per contest, while Adrian Motley adds 10.4 points per game.

Henderson State and Northwestern Oklahoma met for the first time last year with the Reddies losing in Alva 81-64, but winning at home 89-86.
