Box Score Henderson State put forth a valiant effort, but Southeastern Oklahoma rallied from two sets down to beat the Reddies Friday in Great American Conference volleyball action in Arkadelphia, Ark.
The Reddies, 3-19 overall and 0-10 in the GAC, fell behind 14-7 in the first set before
Andjela Reljic rallied Henderson serving five straight points.
Nayeli Colunga had five kills while
Kaylie Pyles and four spikes in the game.
Jessica Moss provided the game-winning kill as Henderson took the opening set 27-25.
Henderson State dominated the second set winning 25-16 as
Ryleigh Thompson served five straight points followed by
Zara Loye serving four consecutive points.
Again Colunga led Henderson with seven kills and a .636 attack percentage as the Reddies outhit the Storm .257 to .000.
Southeastern, 12-9 overall and 6-3 in lead play, cruised to 25-15 and 25-12 wins the next two set to tie the match.
The Storm took the momentum into the final set to win 15-11.
Colunga ended with a season-high 19 kills and totaled 15 defensive digs to record a double-double for Henderson. Moss finished with 11 kills and combined for six blocks.
Thompson totaled 37 set assists while Reljic led the team defensively with 16 digs. Loye added 14 digs while Thompson and
Sophia Cansigno had 11 each.
Henderson State will play a pair of matches on Saturday when the Reddies play host to Alabama-Huntsville at 10 a.m. followed by a match with East Central with the first serve set 1 p.m. in the Duke Wells Center.
