REDDIES TAKE ON EAST CENTRAL IN GAC TILT

Henderson State's women's and men's basketball teams return to the hardwood on Saturday as East Central invades the Duke Wells Center.

The women's game will tipoff at 1 p.m., followed by the men at 3 p.m.

The games can be heard on ESPN 106.9 FM beginning with the pregame show at 12:45 p.m.

Henderson State's women will attempt to bounce back from an 88-72 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma.
 
Aungelique Sledge leads the Reddies averaging 15.9 points per game, while Haleigh Henson is averaging 15.0 points in the early part of the season.
 
East Central, 2-0 overall and 1-0 in league play, is coming off a 69-65 overtime win against Arkansas-Monticello on Thursday.
 
East Central features four players scoring double-figures including Dilan Webster who leads the team averaging 16.0 points per outing. Webster tallied a season-high 23 points, nine rebounds and five blocks against the Cotton Blossoms
 
The Henderson State men's team will attempt to extend its winning streak to three games after an impressive 75-48 win over Southeastern Oklahoma on Thursday.
 
The Reddies enter the game with a 2-1 record overall and a 1-0 mark in GAC play.
 
Reggie Murphy leads Henderson in scoring averaging 16.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game following his 20 point performance on Thursday against the Savage Storm. 
 
The senior from Los Angeles has converted on 20-of-32 shots from the field this year for a shooting percentage of .625.
 
After not scoring in the season opener, Kevin Kozan has combined for 37 points the last two games and is averaging 12.7 points per game. The product of New Lenox, Ill. is shooting 53.8 percent from the field, including 52.9 percent from beyond the arc making 9-of-17 3-point field goals.
 
Henderson State leads the all-time series against East Central having an 11-7 record over the Tigers. The Reddies have won all six meetings since the two teams began playing as part of the Great American Conference.
