Box Score Midwestern State shot a blistering 53 percent from the field in the first half and went on to beat Henderson State 78-46 in men's basketball action, Tuesday in Wichita Falls, Texas.
The Mustangs converted on 17-of-32 shots from the field in the opening half and ended the game shooting 48 percent making 29-of-61 attempts.
Henderson State, 2-3 on the year, made 14-of-45 shots for 31 percent including just 7-of-28 from the floor in the second-half.
Midwestern State, winners of three straight Lone Star Conference championships, jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back maintaining a double-digit lead the entire game.
Reggie Murphy was the lone Reddie to reach double-figures with 10 points while pulling down five rebounds.
Micah Walker followed with 9 points, while
Aaron Cooper chipped in with 7 points.
Midwestern State, 4-1 this season, used a balanced scoring attack with 11 different players putting points on the board led by Xavier Blackburn's 14 points.
The Reddies committed 25 turnovers which led to 29 Mustang points.
The Reddies will next play host to Lane College on Saturday with the opening tip set for 4 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
