The Henderson State women's basketball team will be looking for its third win of the season this Saturday as the Reddies face Arkansas-Fort Smith at 2 p.m. in Fort Smith.
The Reddies are 2-8 on the year following a 66-48 road loss to Harding last Saturday.
Aungeligue Sledge had 18 points in that game, while
Dulincia Keener totaled 10 points and 7 rebounds.
Henderson State holds the all-time series record 2-1 over UAFS, with the first game being played in the 2012-13 season.
Last year, the two teams played in Arkadelphia on Nov. 16, as the Reddies picked up a 61-55 victory.
Sledge currently leads the Reddies in scoring, averaging 16.8 points per game, along with 4.8 rebounds.
She needs just 34 points to reach 1000 career points, something only nine Reddies have done in the past.
Second on the team in points per game is
Haleigh Henson, who averages 9.6. The freshman from Greenwood, Ark. has made 21 attempts from behind the 3-point line this season.
Arkansas-Fort Smith, 2-6 on the season, has two double-digit scorers in Jasmine Brainard and Candice Followwell. Brainard averages 12.7 points and 4.7 rebounds while Followwell averages 11.2 points and 6.2 rebounds.
Angi Ramey is scoring 9.3 points per game while also pulling down 9.8 boards per contest.
This will be Henderson State's sixth and final non-conference opponent for the 2014-15 season.
