Box Score Henderson State's late rally fell short as Texas-Permian Basin beat the Reddies 25-17, 25-21 and 25-23 in volleyball action, Friday at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.
Texas-Permian Basin, 4-5 on the year, Â used a .419 attack percentage in the opening set with the Falcons totaling 19 kills led by Ryley Carmen's five kills.
Jessica Moss had four kills in the set for Henderson.
Henderson State, 1-9 on the year, built a 14-9 lead in the second set, but the Falcons scored seven straight points behind six kills by Caitlin Guajardo.
In set three, Henderson State rallied from a five point deficit, but UTPB held off the late Reddie surge to win the match.
Moss had six kills in the set with
Nayeli Colunga having five spikes for the Reddies.
Moss finished the match with 13 kills and an attack percentage of .321 to lead Henderson.
Ryleigh Thompson finished with 24 set assists while
Andjela Reljic totaled eight defensive digs.
Henderson State returns to Great American Conference action on Tuesday when the Reddies play host to Ouachita Baptist in part one of the Battle of the Ravine. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
