Box Score Henderson State fell to rival Ouachita Baptist 21-25, 16-25, 25-22 and 23-25 Tuesday in volleyball action at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.
In the opening set, OBU used a .256 attack percentage and 13 kills to take the game.
Henderson's
Jessica Moss had five kills in the set, while
Ryleigh Thompson had 10 set assists.
OBU, 8-2 overall and 2-1 in the Great American Conference, got six kills from Abby Pickett to lead the Tigers.
Again it was Moss doing the work for the Reddies having five spikes and a .500 attack percentage in the second set but it wasn't enough as the Tigers outhit the Reddies .273 to .125.
The Reddies rallied to force a fourth set behind the serving of
Zara Loye. Henderson used a .283 attack percentage in the set with Moss having six spikes.
Nayeli Colunga also had five kills to help Henderson.
In a very competitive fourth set, OBU came from behind to beat the Reddies with the assistance of
a .351 hitting percentage.
Moss ended the match with a .372 attack percentage including a season-best 22 kills.
Thompson totaled 46 set assists for Henderson, while
Andjela Reljic had 24 defensive digs and Loye totaling 21.
Colunga finished the match with 14 kills to go along with 14 digs.
Henderson State continues its home schedule on Friday against Southwestern Oklahoma with the first serve set for 6 p.m. in the Duke Wells Center.
