Box Score Henderson State had its best hitting output of the season but it wasn't enough as Northwestern Oklahoma beat the Reddies 25-17, 25-15, 19-25 and 25-21 in Great American Conference volleyball on Saturday in Arkadelphia, Ark.
Henderson State compiled 49 kills including a .276 attack percentage, while the Rangers hit .361 with 66 kills in the match.
After dropping the first two sets, Henderson played a near flawless third set as the Reddies committed just one attack error and had a .520 hitting percentage to take the set.
Jessica Moss had seven kills in the third game with a .875 attack percentage, while
Nayeli Colunga had a .714 hitting percentage with six spikes. Colunga opened the match with eight kills in the first set.
Again Henderson had just one hitting error in the fourth set, but the Ranges had 18 kills and a pair of service aces while the Reddies had three service errors that led to NWOSU claiming the match.
Colunga had a season best 20 kills in the match with a .357 attack percentage, while Moss ended with 14 kills and a .448 hitting percentage.
Violet Williams also had a solid match hitting for a .412 percentage with 8 kills.
Ryleigh Thompson had a season-best 41 set assists to go along with four defensive digs.
Andjela Reljic led Henderson defensively with 21 digs.
Henderson State returns home on Monday to play host to Williams Baptist with the first serve set for 4 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
