Box Score Henderson State jumped out to a 15 point lead and never looked back as the Reddie women's basketball team cruised to a 75-46 win over Ouachita Baptist, Thursday at the Duke Wells Center in the Southern Bancorp Battle of the Ravine.
The Reddies, 6-10 overall and 4-6 in the Great American Conference used a great defense to beat the Tigers, forcing 21 turnovers resulting in 22 points for Henderson State.
Henderson State jumped out to a quick 15-0 lead while OBU struggled missing its first 15 shots before a 3-point field goal by Kori Bullard at the 11:30 mark in the opening half.
Dulincia Keener was a force inside having 11 first-half rebounds before ending the game with 13 boards to go along with 16 points.
Aungelique Sledge provided another all-star performance scoring 24 points to go along with 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals.
Haleigh Henson had the hot hand with a career-high 22 points including a season-best six 3-point field goals.
Jasmine Settles also had a solid night with 8 points and 7 rebounds for the Reddies.
OBU, 6-11 overall and 2-8 in the GAC, was led by Bullard with 15 points.
Henderson State shot 45 percent from the field making 29-of-64 attempts, while OBU shot just 22 percent on 14-of-64 from the field.
Henderson State will next travel to Russellville, Ark. Saturday to face Arkansas Tech with tipoff set for 1 p.m.
