Box Score 2 The Henderson State volleyball team took on two opponents in Southwestern Oklahoma and Oklahoma Panhandle State on Saturday, defeating OPSU in four sets and falling to SWOSU in three.
The first of the two games was the Great American Conference matchup against Southwestern Oklahoma, where the Reddies fell by scores of 25-19, 25-18, and 25-21.
In the contest,
Kaylie Pyles led all HSU players with 14 spikes, while
Violet Williams pitched in 11 and
Gabby Ginapp had eight.
Brea May dished out 35 set assists to lead the way for the Reddies, while libero
Sydney Skelton led the way defensively with 20 digs.
Immediately following the matchup with Southwestern Oklahoma, the Reddies bounced back to defeat non-conference opponent OPSU, winning the first set 25-13.
HSU would fall in the second set 25-22, but regroup to claim sets three and four by scores of 25-20 and 25-21.
Jessie Jacoby was top performer against OPSU having 22 kills for the contest, while Pyles pitched in 13 and Williams had nine along with a .333 hitting percentage.
May compiled 40 set assists to run her total to 75 for the day, while Skelton would once again lead in digs with 22.
The Reddies will return to action on Thursday night as they travel to Russellville, Ark. to take on Arkansas Tech, with first serve notched at 6 p.m.
