Henderson State shot just 33 percent in the second half as Minot State beat the Reddiies 78-65, Saturday at the NSIC/GAC Challenge in Dallas, Texas.
The Beavers outscored the Reddies 42 to 27 in the second half with the help of 18-for-20 free throws.
It was a physical game as the teams were whistled for a total of 54 fouls as the two squads combined to shoot 68 free throws.
The Reddies would jump out to a 17-9 lead to begin the game, but the Beavers go on a 13-0 run over a five minute span to take a 22-17 advantage.
The two teams would go back and forth the final eight minutes of the half before the Reddies took a 38-36 lead at the break behind a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws.by

Minot State would regain the lead at the 16:29 mark on a Dominique McDonald layup to make the score 42-40.
The Beavers would push their lead to 14 with 5:10 benefitting from 18 of 20 free throws in the half.
Kevin Kozan led the Reddies with 17 points, followed by
Matt Panaggio with 12 points and
Zydrunas Jugurtis with 10.
Henderson finished the game shooting 40 percent from the field making 21-of-53 field goals. Minot State hit on 19-of-47 shots from the floor for 40 percent, but converted on 33-of-40 free throws.
The Beavers also won the battle on the boards outrebounding Henderson 41-29.
