Five players scored in double-figures as Henderson State beat Oklahoma Baptist 77-74, Saturday in women's basketball action in Shawnee, Okla.
Moe Bedford led the Reddies with 21 points with
Victoria Stewart adding 20 points hitting 9-of-14 from the field.
The Reddies, 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the Great American Conference fought back from a 38-31 halftime deficit.
Henderson State tied the game on a free throw by Bedford at the 6:26 mark, making the score 63-63.
Over the next minute, neither team scored before Stewart knocked home another free throw to give HSU a 64-63 edge at the 5:30 mark and for the remainder of the contest.
Also scoring in double-figures were
Brittany Branum with 14 points, followed by
Haleigh Henson totaling 11 and
Torrie Thompson 10.
Henderson finished the game shooting 42 percent from the field knocking down 27-of-64 shots from the field. The Reddies did have difficulties shooting from beyond the arc making just 2-of-14 shots.
McKenzie Cooper led Oklahoma Baptist with 28 points.
The Bison hit 24-of-59 field goals for 41 percent shooting.
Henderson State will play its home opener on Tuesday against Arkansas-Fort Smith with opening tip set for 5:30 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
