Box Score In its first conference game of the season, the Henderson State volleyball team fell in three sets at Harding Tuesday night.
The Reddies dropped the first two sets by scores of 25-13 in both before coming up just short in the third 25-20.
In the third set, Henderson State((1-9, 0-1 GAC) stormed out to a 5-2 lead, but Harding(3-6, 1-0) would answer and eventually tie the game at 12-12 before taking the lead for the remainder of the set.
Henderson would pull within four to make the score 24-20 on a
Kaylie Pyles kill, but an HSU service error on the next point ended the contest as Harding escaped the set with a win.
HSU was led by
Jessie Jacoby and Pyles - each ending the match with nine kills.
Pyles was the top performer in attack percentage at .292 and Jacoby led in digs with 12.
Brea May dished out 19 set assists to lead the way at the setter position, while
Gabby Ginapp had two blocks in the middle.
The Reddies totaled 25 kills in the match, while Harding had 33.
Henderson State will return to action on Friday/Saturday at the Missouri Western Quad in St. Joseph, Mo.
HSU opens up play Friday night at 7 p.m. with a matchup against Missouri Western.
Saturday, the Reddies will play two matches with the first set for Noon against Northwest Missouri and the second against Nebraska-Kearney at 2 p.m.
