Reddies Play Host To Ouachita Baptist on Rivalry Monday

Henderson State returns home Monday as the Reddies play host to Ouachita Baptist with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
 
The Reddies will attempt to end a three-game losing skid, while the Tigers look to record their fifth straight win.
 
OBU leads the GAC in scoring offense in conference games averaging 80.5 points per game in league play, while the Reddies lead the league in defense allowing just 68.4 points per contest.
 
Henderson is coming off a tough 79-71 loss to Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday.
 
The Reddies had a 60-54 point lead with 6 minutes remaining against the Weevils, but UAM went on a 19-1 run to rebound to beat Henderson.
 
Kaylon Tappin scored a career-high 32 points against UAM to improve his season average to 14.4 points per game.
 
Kevin Kozan leads Henderson averaging 14.5 points per game while shooting 42 percent from beyond the 3-point line. A year ago, Kozan scored 21 points and hit 7-of-10 3-point field goals in Henderson's win against the Tigers.
 
Tavian Pomlee is averaging 10.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
 
Ouachita enters the contest with a 6-8 record overall but sits atop of the Great American Conference standings with a 6-2 mark.
 
Three Tigers average 14 or more points per game led by Justin McCleary scoring 14.5 points per game. McCleary is one of the best 3-point shooters in the GAC being successful on 44 percent of his attempts making 27-of-62 shots from beyond the arc.
 
Tirrell Brown and Lakee Westbrook both are averaging 14.1 points per contest. Brown shoots 56 percent from the field while pulling down 6.9 rebounds per game. Last Year Brown had a game-high 25 points against the Reddies in the Duke Wells Center.
 
Monday's meeting will be the 201st between the rivals with Ouachita Baptist leading 103-97. The two teams split the series last year.
The game will be carried on 106.9 FM KYXK Arkadelphia/Gurdon with R.J. Hawk (@RJHawk) providing the play-by-play. Color commentary for the women's game provided by Athletics Media Relations Assistant Hunter Lively (@HLively). Former Reddie player and coach Grady Bean will provide the color commentary for the men's game.
 
The Domino's pregame show will air 5:15 p.m. with the women's game set for 5:30 p.m.
