Henderson State shot a sizzling 74 percent in the second half to beat Arkansas Tech 89-80 Thursday at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The Reddies hit 17-of-23 shots from the field including 6-of-8 from beyond the 3-point arc helped which Henderson State end a four-game losing streak.

After trailing 42-41 at the break, Henderson dominated the second half hitting nine straight field goals at one time and 13-of-15 to build a double-digit lead that the Wonder Boys could not overcome.

Six Reddies scored in double-figures led by
Tavian Pomlee who had a career-high 18 points.

Kevin Kozan also had 18 points including hitting 4-of-5 from 3-point range.

Kaylon Tappin and
Ben Marello had 12 points each while
Zydrunas Jurgutis scored 11 and
Matt Panaggio added 10.

Henderson ended the game converting on 30-of-50 shots from the field for 60 percent while Arkansas Tech was limited to 40 percent shooting making 25-of-63 shots from the floor.

The Reddies shot a stout 68 percent from 3-point range making 13-of-19 attempts. Henderson was also solid from the foul line making 16-of-21 attempts.

The Reddies also tied a season-best with 23 assists as
Eric Dailey, Panaggio and Tappin had five each.

Henderson will next travel to Searcy, Ark. on Saturday to take on Harding with first tip at the Rhodes Field House set for 7:30 p.m.
