Reddies Look to Get on Track Against Oklahoma Baptist

Henderson State will attempt get back in the win column as the Reddies play host to Oklahoma Baptist Saturday with tip off set for 3 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
 
The Reddies look to avenge a loss earlier in the season to the Bison as OBU won 61-57 in Shawnee, Okla.      

Henderson is coming off a 73-61 loss to Southern Nazarene on Thursday in a game that saw the Reddie shoot just 37 percent from the field.
 
Henderson is averaging 68.9 points per game while allowing 72.8 points per contest.
 
Kaylon Tappin once again led the Reddies with 19 points against the Crimson Storm while pulling down six rebounds. Tappin now leads the team averaging 14.3 points per contest including an average of 17.8 points per game in the last five games.
 
Kevin Kozan totaled just 5 points on Thursday and is now averaging 13.7 points per contest.
 
Tavian Pomlee scored 9 points and grabbed 8 rebounds against SNU and is averaging 10.5 points along with 5.1 rebounds per game.
 
Alioune Mboup now leads the team in rebounding at 5.6 boards per game after having a career-high 16 rebounds against Southern Nazarene.           

Oklahoma Baptist has lost eight straight games including a 78-66 loss to Ouachita Baptist on Thursday. The Bison last won on Dec. 14 when they beat Central Christian of Kansas 73-70.
 
OBU enters with a 5-11 record overall and a 1-11 mark in league play with the lone conference win being a 61-57 win over Henderson State on Nov. 21, 2015 in Shawnee, Okla.
 
Oklahoma Baptist ranks last in the GAC in scoring averaging just 68.7 points per game.              
 
The Bison are led by Steven Green who is scoring 18.6 points per game which ranks second in the GAC. The junior from Phoenix, Ariz. is averaging 23.5 points in the last four games including 16 against Ouachita on Thursday. Green had 11 points and 11 rebounds in the first game against HSU.
 
Chandler Rickey follows averaging 13.7 points including a team leading 8.2 rebounds which leads the GAC.
Vladimir Nemcok also averages in double-figures with 10.4 points. 

Oklahoma Baptist leads the all-time series with the Henderson State having a 5-2 advantage in a series which dates back to 1967. Henderson is 2-1 in games played in Arkadelphia during the NAIA days.

Saturday's double-header will be carried on 106.9 FM KYXK Arkadelphia/Gurdon with R.J. Hawk (@RJHawk) providing the play-by-play. Former Reddie player and coach Grady Bean will provide the color commentary for the men's game.
 
The Domino's pregame show will air 12:45 p.m. with the women's game set for 1 p.m.
