Henderson State returns to Great American Conference play as the Reddies travel to Weatherford, Okla. Thursday to take on Southwestern Oklahoma with tip off set for 7:30 p.m.

The Reddies begin the new year playing four consecutive GAC road games before coming home on Jan. 18 to face Ouachita Baptist.

Henderson brings a 2-7 overall record and a 1-3 mark in league play into the contest with the Bulldogs.

Henderson averages 68.7 points per game which ranks 11th in the GAC, but the Reddies are fourth in scoring defense allowing opponents 71.4 points per contest.
Kevin Kozan leads Henderson in scoring averaging 16.9 points per game while averaging scored 20 points in the last four games. The junior from New Lenox, Ill. also leads the team in 3-point field goals with 27.

Tavian Pomlee totaled 10 points and 8 rebounds in Henderson's last game against Texas A&M Commerce. Pomlee is averaging 10.0 points per game.

Matt Panaggio is scoring 9.1 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at 5.9 rebounds per contest.

Freshman
Ben Marello averages 9.0 points after scoring 34 points in the last three games.

Southwestern Oklahoma enters the contest with an 8-2 record overall and lead the GAC with a 4-0 mark.

SWOSU averages 78.2 points per games which ranks third in the GAC. The Bulldogs also leads the league in steals with 76.

Matrell Collins leads the Bulldogs averaging 15.2 points per game. Last year Collins totaled 35 points and pulled down 22 rebounds in the two games against the Reddies including a 25 point, 13 rebound performance at the Duke Wells Center.

Markeise Champion follows averaging 14.9 points per contest and is the team's big 3-point threat. Williams has nailed 50 percent of his shots from beyond the arc hitting 39-of-78 attempts.

Emeche Wells also averages double-figures scoring 12.1 points per game. Wells is also a solid defensive player leading the GAC in steals with 25.

Southwestern Oklahoma leads the all-time series with a 6-3 advantage including winning the last four straight games over the Reddies.  Â
Henderson's last win against the Bulldogs was a 59-55 victory on Feb. 21, 2013 in Weatherford. Â Â Â Â Â
