Men's Basketball Troy Mitchell

HSU Basketball Teams Continue Road Trip in Alva, Okla.

Henderson State continues its four game Great American Conference road swing on Saturday as the Reddies travel to Alva, Okla. to face Northwestern Oklahoma.
 
The women will start things off at 1 p.m. with the men following at 3 p.m.
 
Both games can be heard on 106.9 FM KYXK with Hunter Lively (@HLively) and Troy Mitchell (@MitchellHSU) calling all the action. The Domino's pregame show is set to begin at 12:45 p.m.

The Reddie women will look to rebound from their first GAC loss of the year to Southwestern Oklahoma on Thursday.
 
Dulincia Keener led Henderson with 20 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Torrie Thompson totaled a career-high 17 points making 7-of-13 attempts from the field, while Moe Bedford added 15 and Haleigh Henson had 14.
 
Keener leads the team in scoring this season averaging 17.2 points per game and also averages 8.6 rebounds per contest
 
Northwestern Oklahoma comes off a 73-60 loss to Ouachita Baptist. Kamera Bozeman led the Rangers in overall scoring on the night with 12 total points. Bozeman leads the team averaging 10 points per game.
 
Henderson State leads the all-time series over NWOSU having a 4-2 advantage.
 
On the men's side, the Reddies will attempt to win its second consecutive road game.
 
Henderson is coming off an impressive 77-52 win over Southwestern Oklahoma to improve to 3-7 overall record and 2-3 in GAC play.

The return of Aaron Cooper along with Kaylon Tappin has been instrumental. Cooper is averaging 16 points and 4.5 rebounds, while Tappin adds 8.5 points and 3.5 boards in their two games back. The two players returning enable the Reddies to have more depth at the guard position.
 
Kevin Kozan averages 15.7 points per game to lead the Reddies.
 
Tavian Pomlee totaled 17 points and 8 rebounds against Southwestern Oklahoma. Pomlee is averaging 10.7 points per game. Matt Panaggio is scoring 8.9 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at 5.5.     
 
Northwestern Oklahoma enters the contest with a 1-8 record overall and are 1-4 in league play following an 87-73 loss to Ouachita Baptist on Thursday.


The Rangers average 71.3 points per games which ranks eighth in the GAC. Opponents are scoring 76.9 points per game.
 
Adrian Motley leads the Rangers averaging 18.0 points per game. One of the top scorers in the GAC, Motley also leads the team in rebounding at 6.4 boards per game.
 
Zach Dumas follows averaging 11.3 points per contest and is a 3-point threat. Dumas has nailed 34 percent of his shots from beyond the arc hitting 13-of-38 attempts. Dumas is also the top free throw shooter for NWOSU at 82 percent making 23-of-28.
 
Northwestern Oklahoma leads the all-time series with a 4-2 advantage including winning the last three straight games over the Reddies. Henderson's last win against the Rangers was a 81-77 victory on Jan. 18, 2014 in Arkadelphia.
