Henderson State will make its first-ever appearance in the Great American Conference Tournament as the Reddies take on Southern Nazarene, Thursday at the Bank of the Ozarks Arena in Hot Springs, Ark. with the first serve set for Noon.

Henderson's last trip to a conference tournament was in 2010 when the Reddies were part of the Gulf South Conference.
Henderson finished the GAC with an 8-8 record, recording more conference wins this season than in the previous five seasons combined.

Henderson, 13-15 on the season, is one of the youngest teams in the GAC with this year's squad consisting of 10 newcomers including eight freshmen. The Reddie freshmen account for 75 percent of sets played.

Sophomore newcomer
Sharon Tukuaoga has played 108 of a possible 109 sets, with sophomore returnee
Gabby Ginapp playing 95 sets.

Among other returners having logged significant playing time include junior libero
Sydney Skelton, who is the only Reddie to play every set, and senior middle blocker
Jessie Jacoby who has played 62 sets.

Tukuaoga, leads Henderson with 414 kills this season while having a .273 attack percentage.
Setter
Sariah Boney has totaled 694 set assists, the most since Rachel Norton compiled 1155 set assists in 2007.

The freshman from Fort Worth, Texas has recorded 20 or more set assists in 19 matches. Boney had 64 set assists against Pittsburg State and 60 against Northern State.

Sydney Skelton's 603 digs leads the GAC and are the most by a Reddie player since Ashley Totten had 711 in 2010.

The junior from Jonesboro, Ark. was named GAC Defensive Player of the Week after this past week after totaling 77 digs in matches against UAM and Southern Arkansas including a record 54 digs against the Cotton Blossoms.

For the season, Skelton has compiled 10 or more digs in 26 of 28 matches including 20 or more digs 14 times

Adrianna Hartmann ranks fifth in the GAC in blocks with 95 this season. The freshman from Fredricksburg, Texas has 126 kills and a .238 attack percentage.

Ginapp leads Henderson with a .294 attack percentage while also having 71 blocks for the year.

The sophomore from Round Rock, Texas compiled an amazing .765 attack percentage in the final regular-season match against Southern Arkansas with 13 kills, 0 errors, on 17 attempts.

Henderson State and Southern Nazarene met earlier this season in Arkadelphia with the Reddies winning 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 26-24, and 25-23).

Henderson combined for 10 team blocks and took advantage of 10 service errors

Tukuagoa collected 12 kills in the match with Ginapp adding 10 while building a .429 attack percentage to lead the Reddies.
Â
Haley Higgins would total 33 set assists in the match, while
Sydney Skelton added 30 defensive digs.
Â
The win over the Crimson Storm was the first-ever over SNU in five attempts.

The winner of the Henderson/Southern Nazarene match will take on the winner of the No. 2 Ouachita Baptist/No. 7 Arkansas-Monticello contest Friday at 3:30 p.m.
