Reddies Drop Exhibition To Arkansas State 71-49

Tony Foster had 14 points with four three-pointers and 11 different players scored, but the Henderson State men's basketball team fell 71-49 to Arkansas State Saturday afternoon in an exhibition game in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

The Red Wolves blitzed the Reddies at the start, using a 19-3 run and five three-pointers to open up a 26-8 lead in the game's first 10 minutes.

After the early ASU spurt, Henderson played straight-up with their DI opponent for the rest of the first period, but trailed at the half 44-27.

The second 20 minutes proved to be much more competitive, but the Red Wolves proved to be too much for the Reddies and pulled away for the win.

Kaylon Tappin and Saijon Blackwell added six points each for the Reddies, while Brad Nairn led the team in rebounds with five.

Henderson got 30 points from its bench and forced 19 ASU turnovers in defeat.

The Reddies' first regular season game is Friday, Nov. 11 against Minot State at Cedar Valley College in Dallas, Texas at 5 p.m.
