Box Score Henderson State could not overcome shooting just 30 percent from the field, falling 60-47 to Southern Arkansas on Thursday evening at the Duke Wells Center in Great American Conference play.
On the night, the Reddies connected on 16-of-53 attempts from the field, while knocking down just 4-of-18 attempts from beyond-the-arc for 22 percent.
Southern Arkansas used 34 points in the paint to defeat Henderson, and also outrebounded HSU 38 to 32.
Dulincia Keener had a strong outing for the Reddies, as she moved into second all-time in HSU history in career rebounds, pulling down 12 boards to go along with her 16 points for a double-double effort.
Haleigh Henson also contributed nine points in the losing effort for Henderson, knocking down three treys.
Henderson State committed 26 turnovers, while forcing 15 from the Lady Muleriders.
SAU had four players score in double-figures, and were led by Rosa Bryant's 16 to go along with 13 boards.
The Lady Muleriders were 26-of-68 from the field for 38 percent in the contest, and connected on all four of the free-throw attempts.
The Reddies would knock down 11-of-21 attempts from the charity stripe in the contest.
HSU will look to bounce back on Saturday in another conference home matchup at the Duke Wells Center against Arkansas-Monticello, with tipoff slated for 1 p.m.
