HSU Men’s Basketball Upends NWOSU 86-77 in Season Finale

Henderson State used a 49 percent shooting performance to end the season on a high note on Saturday, defeating Northwestern Oklahoma 86-77 in Great American Conference play at the Duke Wells Center.

It was Senior Day for three Reddies, as Aaron Cooper, Tavian Pomlee, and Alioune Mboup were all recognized for their efforts in an HSU uniform before the game.

In the final two minutes, NWOSU pulled as close as five at the 1:16 mark to make the score 82-77 in favor of HSU.

However, HSU would go on a 4-0 run to close out the game that started with a pair of Cooper free throws with just under a minute to go, and ended on an emphatic Kaylon Tappin fast break dunk that sealed the deal with 37 seconds remaining.
